Saddle Fitting with Carousel

Saddle Fitters, from Carousel have attended the Society of Masters Saddlers (UK) Ltd Saddle Fitting Course, and having trained for at least 3 years and passed their exam, they hold the qualification of "Society of Master Saddler Qualified Saddler Fitter" (SMS QSF). We are also registered with the Society of Master Saddlers (SMS) as a Retailer and Saddle Supplier. We also employ trainee Saddle Fitters who work under the supervision of a Qualified Saddle Fitter.

Our aim to is provide a well fitting saddle for your horse, which is also a suitable fit for yourself. We have a large range of saddles to choose from, for every discipline. We stock leather saddles from: -

  1. Jeffries, GFS (Fieldhouse), Barnsby, Ideal, Ideal, Black Country, Albion, Jaguar, Harry Dabbs, Bates, Collegiate and the Saddle Company which is available as a part leather and part synthetic saddle.

And synthetic saddles from Thorowgood and Wintec.

  1. We are also stockists of the WOW Saddle and we are available to adjust the fit of Flaired saddles.

CHARGES (SEE BELOW FOR CURRENT CHARGES)

As recommended by the Society of Master Saddlers an Assessment Fee is charged to cover our professional service, time and travel costs.

During our initial assessment we will take the details of the horse and rider and will carry out the procedure that is required by the Society of Master Saddlers. If there are saddles to ride in then this can take between 11/2 to 2 hours, a WOW saddle can take 2 to 3 hours.

PAYMENT

We ask for payment of our charges on the day of the saddle fitting please. Credit terms are available on new saddles only. Please ask for details.

APPOINTMENTS

Saddle fitting is by appointment. Appointments can be made by completing a saddle enquiry form at the shop, by telephoning or emailing us. Generally appointments can be arranged within one to two weeks but during busy periods this may be extended.

SADDLE FITTING ADVICE AND REMEDIAL SADDLE FITTING

We are available to check the fit of your current saddle, even if your saddle was not purchased from us. We aim to only sell you a new saddle if your horse needs one.

We offer a complete service for horses that require remedial saddle fitting. Horses that have had back problems, injury and or previously badly fitting saddles are not always of the correct shape and in the correct work to warrant purchasing their own saddle. We are able to provide saddles for hire as the horse changes shape to ensure the correct fit. We work in conjunction with Veterinary Surgeons and Physiotherapists to achieve a correctly fitting saddle for your horse.

AFTERCARE OF A SADDLE

The fit of your saddle is important to both the horse and rider; therefore we recommend that you have your new saddle checked after 3 months of use.

Every effort will have been made to ensure your saddle is a good fit, however please bear in mind that, flocking will settle and horses do change shape. Saddles do not change to any great degree but horses can and often do; the time of the year, the age of the animal, the work being done, even a change of home or rider may considerably alter the way that the saddle fits.

It is advisable therefore to have your saddle checked at least twice a year, to allow for seasonal work and diet changes in your horse's management, resulting in variations in his shape and therefore the fit of your horses saddle.

If you have any worries about the fit of your saddle we are always willing to discuss them with you.

MADE TO MEASURE SADDLES

Some saddles can be made to measure, so we are able to provide them specifically for your horse or pony that may be an unusual fit or have individual requirements, ie longer or shorter flap length.

SUPPLY OF SECOND HAND SADDLES

We are able to supply and fit second hand saddles. Certain styles and widths of saddles are sometimes very difficult to source and we may not always be able to supply one. We are however happy to check the fit of any saddle that you can source. We are unable to take a saddle in part exchange against a second hand saddle.

PART EXCHANGE AGAINST A NEW LEATHER SADDLE

We will take one leather second hand saddle in part exchange against a new leather saddle. Should you require us to value your saddle and confirm that we are willing to take it in part exchange before arranging a saddle fitting please contact us so that we can make arrangements to value your saddle.

PART EXCHANGE AGAINST A SYNTHETIC SADDLE

We are unable to take any saddle in part exchange against a synthetic saddle.

TAKING SADDLES TO TRY

We aim to offer a complete saddle fitting service following the guidelines of the Society of Master Saddlers. However should you wish to "try and buy" your own saddle then we will assist you as we feel appropriate, but accept no responsibility for any problems incurred. We do recommend that you employ the services of a Qualified Saddle Fitter.

Any new or second hand saddle(s) taken by customers MUST be paid for by cash or credit card before being taken. The money will be refunded on the return of the saddle. Any saddles not returned with 7 days will be considered sold. New saddles are NOT to be tried in wet weather, nor are they to be used continuously as this will ruin the saddle. Any damages will have to be charged for.
